McDonough and Braungart - partners in an industrial design firm that creates environmentally sound buildings, equipment and products - contend that traditional, expensive eco-efficiency measures such as recycling or emissions reduction are inadequate for protecting the health of the planet. The authors want to eliminate waste while preserving commerce and allowing for human nature.
